About Don ShireDon Shire is a gifted Christian trumpeter with a passion for mission’s mobilization worldwide. Don offers his unique trumpet styling in church concerts, mission conferences and in evangelistic meetings throughout the United States and around the world. Don’s music is heard on Christian radio in the United States and on some international stations. His musical arrangements vary in style from classical to relaxed improvisation to gospel, and his appeal is to all ages.
Alumni of Moody Bible Institute, Don and Kathy Shire have previously served in churches in the areas of youth, Christian education, and music. Don also worked for many years as president of two computer related businesses. Don was ordained as a minister of the Gospel by Impact International in 1994. In 1995, he responded to God’s leading to leave the business arena. In 1997, Don and Kathy formed Don Shire Ministries, a mission organization offering short-term mission opportunities to individuals and church groups. Since its inception, Don Shire Ministries has taken thousands of people on mission trips offering work projects, evangelism, teaching, children’s programs, Christian camping, and prison ministries. Some who have gone on these trips are now serving full time on the mission field. Through the gifts of donors, Don Shire Ministries also supports orphans and widows in India and Haiti and helps hundreds of Ukrainian war refugees in Ukraine and Poland. Until recently, Don served as president of the board for Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries. He has been given the title of Board Member Emeritus and he continues an active involvement with the ministry. This organization has established a home on the island of Roatan, Honduras, for orphaned, abandoned, abused, and underprivileged children. For more information on this ministry, see www.sblmroatan.net. Don also serves on the board of MPAS (Mission Padamo Aviation Support) in Venezuela. Don and Kathy currently reside in Bedford, Virginia. They have been married since 1974, are the parents of three adult children, and are wonderfully blessed with ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. With a concert schedule taking him to some of the largest churches in the United States as well as small churches in rural America, Don simply wants to serve where the Lord leads him. His goal at each concert is to challenge those in attendance to live committed lives for the Lord and to help people understand how to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Don’s recordings are available at his concerts and on this website. One of Don’s favorite Bible verses is 1 Corinthians 14:8 “Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? " The trumpet has indeed opened doors around the world. To date, Don has ministered in the following countries: Afghanistan, Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Canada, Cayman Islands, Columbia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Czech Republic, El Salvador, England, France, Germany, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Holland, Honduras, India, Israel, Jamaica, Myanmar, Northern Ireland, Mexico, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Republic of Ireland, Switzerland, Trinidad, Uganda, Ukraine and Venezuela. |

About Julie McFaddenJulie has always had a strong love for God. She grew up in a Christian home with parents who are in pastoral ministry. She became a Christian at a young age and felt called into vocational ministry. She graduated from Moody Bible Institute with a communications and Bible degree and married her college sweetheart, Arol McFadden. She and Arol began working at Minooka Bible Church in 1998. They have served there together since then. Julie loves being a pastor’s wife and serving within the local church in a variety of roles.
Julie and Arol have 4 sons and she loves being a mom to her boys. Her sons are Micah, Carson, Rylan and Cohen. Each of these adventuresome young men bring her great joy. In 2015, Julie went with Don Shire Ministries and Minooka Bible Church to Haiti. On this trip, Julie fell in love with Haiti and the children at the orphanage. She felt God leading her to continue helping the children in whatever way she could. She developed a program called orphanED at Minooka Bible Church to support the kids from Don Shire Ministries as they “age- out” of the orphanage. This program provides for vocational training and/or college education to give each child the best shot possible at a secure future. She continued to volunteer for DSM whenever possible. In January 2018, she came on as staff at Don Shire Ministries and is thrilled to take deeper steps into the work in Haiti. Her role involves managing the ministries DSM has in Haiti. She oversees our missionary and staff at Our House of Hope. Please contact Julie if you are interested in sponsoring or going a short-term trip to Haiti! [email protected] |
