DSM International began serving in Haiti in 2008. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, and we believe God has called us to make a difference here. The Haitian people are beautiful, resilient, and proud—and it is our prayer that everything we do brings glory to God and blessings to the people of Haiti.
Our ministry has grown over the years and now includes several key areas of outreach. The heart of our work is found in our Haven of Hope programs: the children’s homes and the Haven of Hope school.
For many years, Our House of Hope operated as a guest house for international mission teams. However, due to the increasing instability and violence in Haiti, mission teams have been unable to visit. To continue using the space for God’s purposes, we launched the Haven of Hope school for our kids and some kids from the local community—now proudly serving 56 students this year! Across our two Haven of Hope children’s homes and one aging-out transition home, we provide a safe and loving environment for 46 children, ranging from babies to young adults in their early 20s. In addition, we run a daycare program at Haven of Hope with 15 daycare kids to support our staff and families within the local community.
